LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring the Williamsville Business Association
upon the occasion of its designation as  recipient  of  the  2013  Small
Business  Organization  of  the  Year  Award  by  the Amherst Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that  the
quality  and  character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of  business  organ-
izations  and  individuals  that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Williamsville Business Association upon the occasion of its  designation
as  recipient  of the 2013 Small Business Organization of the Year Award
by the Amherst Chamber of Commerce; this  auspicious  occasion  will  be
celebrated at the Chamber's annual Small Business Awards Luncheon, to be
held  on  Friday, May 17, 2013, at Samuel's Grande Manor in Buffalo, New
York; and
  WHEREAS, The Williamsville Business Association has provided 28  years
of  service  to  the  Village of Williamsville, New York; it consists of
more than 130 business and professional  leaders  whose  purpose  is  to
cultivate  a  closer  relationship  between  the business community, the
government and the residents of the Village of Williamsville, New  York;
and
  WHEREAS,  Since its origin, the Williamsville Business Association has
made great strides in promoting the growth of the business  and  profes-
sional  environment, as well as being a valuable voice in furthering the
enhancement of the quality of life in the village; and
  WHEREAS, The Williamsville Business Association is looking not only to
sustain but also to expand the fine work that has been  accomplished  in
maintaining the organization's tremendous success; the goal of the Asso-
ciation  is to keep advancing the Village of Williamsville, New York, as
a destination point; and
  WHEREAS, The Williamsville Business Association has expanded  twofold;
its  newest events include the Glen Park Art Festival, Oktoberfest cele-
brations, Music On Main and business speakers programs; and
  WHEREAS, While  promoting  and  encouraging  a  positive  relationship
between  businesses,  professionals,  government  and  residents  of the
Village of Williamsville, the Williamsville  Business  Association  will
continue  to  advocate and augment the economic development of the local
business community; and
  WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a  unique  opportunity  for
this  Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Williamsville
Business Association; and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an  organ-
ization  of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, it should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of  this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Williamsville Business Association upon the  occasion  of  its
designation  as recipient of the 2013 Small Business Organization of the
Year Award by the Amherst Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Williamsville Business Association.
