LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring  TD Bank N.A. upon the occasion of its
designation as a 2013 SUNY New Paltz School of  Business  Hall  of  Fame
inductee, on May 9, 2013

WHEREAS,  It  is  the  custom  of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious businesses within the State of  New  York  whose  focus  and
intent  have  made  a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions,  this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor TD
Bank N.A. upon the occasion of its designation as a 2013 SUNY New  Paltz
School  of Business Hall of Fame inductee, as distinguished recipient of
the Dean's Award of Excellence; and
  WHEREAS, The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Thurs-
day, May 9, 2013, at the Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, New York; and
  WHEREAS, TD Bank N.A. has earned this prestigious award in recognition
of the spirit of community and civic engagement which embodies the  very
core of its corporate citizenship philosophy; and
  WHEREAS,  TD  Bank  N.A.  is one of the 10 largest banks in the United
States, with more than 27,800 employees and deep roots in the  community
dating back more than 150 years; and
  WHEREAS, TD Bank N.A. is committed to making a meaningful and positive
contribution  to  the individuals, families, businesses, and communities
within its marketplace, with particular emphasis on  promoting  economic
empowerment, youth development and community involvement; and
  WHEREAS,  Through  the TD Charitable Foundation, TD Bank N.A. provides
significant and essential  financial  assistance  to  health  and  human
services  organizations,  as  well as for a wide variety of cultural and
community events; and
  WHEREAS, TD Bank employees, the company's  greatest  asset,  exemplify
the  corporate  objectives and philosophy of "giving back" to those they
serve; each year they donate more than 250,000 volunteer hours, by serv-
ing on boards, working  in  schools,  and  supporting  local  non-profit
organizations in countless ways; and
  WHEREAS,  Some  of  the  associations  supported  by TD Bank employees
include the United Way, March of  Dimes,  Special  Olympics  and  Junior
Achievement; and
  WHEREAS,  TD  Bank  N.A.  assiduously  works day after day, year after
year, to make communities stronger, more vibrant, and prosperous through
the efforts of their employees and their ongoing  financial  commitment;
and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when businesses
of  such  noble  aims  and accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be celebrated and recognized by  all  the  citizens  of  the
great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor TD Bank N.A. upon the occasion of its designation as a  2013  SUNY
New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame inductee; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to TD Bank N.A.
