LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ronald A. Tourville upon the occasion of
being selected as Franklin County's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year

WHEREAS,  Senior  citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society;  their  past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to honor Ronald A.
Tourville upon the occasion of being selected as Franklin County's  2013
Senior  Citizen  of  the Year, in recognition of his invaluable contrib-
utions to the community through his outstanding, and  much  appreciated,
volunteer work; and
  WHEREAS,  As Franklin County's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year, Ronald
A.  Tourville will participate in the Annual New York State Senior Citi-
zens Day Luncheon, hosted by the State Office for the Aging  (SOFA),  at
the Hart Theatre Lounge in the Egg, Albany, New York, on Tuesday, May 7,
2013; and
  WHEREAS,  Ronald  A.  Tourville was born in Ellenburgh, New York, and,
after graduating high school in 1955,  joined  the  United  States  Army
where he served on active duty with honor and distinction for two years,
and  then continued with the CUS Army Reserves until 1960; he retired in
1998, and is a resident of Chateaugay, New York, where he lives with his
wife of 55 years; and
  WHEREAS, Ronald A. Tourville has  been  an  active  volunteer  in  his
community for 25 years; and
  WHEREAS,  After  his  retirement,  Ronald A. Tourville became involved
with the Burke Adult Center, serving as a Meals on Wheels driver,  as  a
member of its Board, and as a representative for the Town of Bellmont on
the  Association  of Senior Citizens Board of Directors; in addition, he
volunteers at the Bellmont Food  Pantry  where  he  is  responsible  for
delivering  food  to  forty families, as well as managing food supplies;
and
  WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Ronald A. Tourville's  distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ronald A. Tourville upon the occasion of being selected as  Frank-
lin County's 2013 Senior Citizen of the Year; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ronald A. Tourville.
