LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Nicholas Branch upon the occasion of his
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2013 OCIAA Scholar Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its  long-standing  traditions,  to  honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose  character  and  accomplishments
exemplify  the  ideals  and  values  cherished  by  this great State and
nation; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body  is  justly  proud  to  honor  Nicholas
Branch  upon the occasion of his recognition by the Orange County Inter-
scholastic Athletic Association as a 2013 OCIAA Scholar Athlete; and
  WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Nicholas  Branch  has  distin-
guished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and matu-
rity,  establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposeful-
ness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
  WHEREAS, Nicholas Branch, a student at Cornwall High School  in  Corn-
wall,  New  York,  ranked 1st in his class and participated in swimming,
indoor track, and track and field; and
  WHEREAS, He is valedictorian, Class vice-president, a  member  of  the
National Honor Society, a student intern, tutor and a member of Pit Band
for  Drama  Club,  Orchestra,  String Quartet and student government; he
plans to attend either Georgia Institute of Technology or Purdue Univer-
sity; and
  WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Nicholas Branch
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
  WHEREAS, Nicholas Branch may stand with  pride  in  his  achievements,
experiencing  the  satisfaction  of his labors and the joy of his accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he contin-
ues his education; and
  WHEREAS, Nicholas Branch represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to  honor
this  young  man,  recognizing  his  achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
honor Nicholas Branch upon the occasion of his recognition by the Orange
County  Interscholastic  Athletic  Association  as  a 2013 OCIAA Scholar
Athlete, and to wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nicholas Branch.
