LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring Casey Fitzpatrick upon the occasion of
her recognition by the Orange County  Interscholastic  Athletic  Associ-
ation as a 2013 OCIAA Scholar Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its  long-standing  traditions,  to  honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose  character  and  accomplishments
exemplify  the  ideals  and  values  cherished  by  this great State and
nation; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Casey  Fitzpa-
trick  upon  the occasion of her recognition by the Orange County Inter-
scholastic Athletic Association as a 2013 OCIAA Scholar Athlete; and
  WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Casey Fitzpatrick has  distin-
guished  herself  as  a  young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in  youthful  years;
and
  WHEREAS,  Casey Fitzpatrick, a student at James I. O'Neill High School
in West Point, New York, ranked 3rd in  her  class  and  played  soccer,
cross country and crew; and
  WHEREAS,  Her  activities  include:  Model United Nations, Science and
Research Academy, National Honor Society, and she  is  an  American  Red
Cross volunteer; she plans to attend Cornell University; and
  WHEREAS,  An  outstanding role model for her classmates, Casey Fitzpa-
trick has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
  WHEREAS, Casey Fitzpatrick may stand with pride in  her  achievements,
experiencing  the  satisfaction  of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face  the  challenge  of  new  experiences  as  she
continues her education; and
  WHEREAS,  Casey  Fitzpatrick  represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is  pleased  to
honor  this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
honor  Casey  Fitzpatrick  upon  the  occasion of her recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2013 OCIAA Scho-
lar Athlete, and to wish her well in her future  endeavors;  and  be  it
further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Casey Fitzpatrick.
