LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Katie Borriello upon the occasion of her
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2013 OCIAA Scholar Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its  long-standing  traditions,  to  honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose  character  and  accomplishments
exemplify  the  ideals  and  values  cherished  by  this great State and
nation; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Katie Borriel-
lo upon the occasion of her recognition by the Orange County  Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association as a 2013 OCIAA Scholar Athlete; and
  WHEREAS,  Academically  and  athletically, Katie Borriello has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of  superlative  ability,  talent,  and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness  of  life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
  WHEREAS, Katie Borriello, a student at Valley Central High  School  in
Montgomery, New York, ranked 22nd in her class and participated in swim-
ming, indoor track and lacrosse; and
  WHEREAS,  She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor
Society, National Art Honor Society and Math Honor Society; she plans to
attend St. Thomas Aquinas; and
  WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Katie Borriello
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
  WHEREAS, Katie Borriello may stand with  pride  in  her  achievements,
experiencing  the  satisfaction  of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face  the  challenge  of  new  experiences  as  she
continues her education; and
  WHEREAS, Katie Borriello represents the potential inherent in our most
precious  resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the  promise  of  her
future; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Katie Borriello upon the occasion of her recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association  as  a  2013  OCIAA  Scholar
Athlete, and to wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Katie Borriello.
