LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring George Walter upon the occasion of his
retirement after 40 years of distinguished service

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
George Walter upon the occasion of his retirement after 40 years of
distinguished service; and
WHEREAS, For the past 40 years, George Walter rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Lake Huntington Sewer District,
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as a sewer plant operator, George Walter
served with loyalty, honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems in his
official acts; and
WHEREAS, Retiring in December of 2012, George Walter was lauded as an
outstanding employee who dedicated himself to a part-time job which
required attention seven days a week, as the sewer district serves
almost 300 homes and businesses; and
WHEREAS, Also a Cochecton Center chicken farmer, George Walter is
being succeeded as sewer plant operator by his son, Michael; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor George Walter upon the occasion of his retirement after 40 years
of distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to George Walter.
