Honoring Teresa Fenner Spadafora upon the occasion of being designated a 2013 Woman of Excellence

LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring Teresa Fenner Spadafora upon the occa-
sion of being designated a 2013 Woman of Excellence by the  Albany-Colo-
nie Regional Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS,  The  State  of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
  WHEREAS, Teresa Fenner Spadafora will be recognized as a 2013 Woman of
Excellence by the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce  during  a
luncheon to be held at the Albany Marriott on May 30, 2013; and
  WHEREAS,  Teri  studied  Early  Childhood  Education  at Hudson Valley
Community College; and
  WHEREAS, She also attended the New School of  Contemporary  Radio  and
worked at several local radio stations; and
  WHEREAS,  During  her  time  in  Buffalo,  Teri  returned to school at
Buffalo State College to study secondary education English; and
  WHEREAS, Upon her return to the Capital District, she worked in  event
planning and retail management before embarking on a new endeavor in the
banking industry; and
  WHEREAS,  Teri began her distinguished career in banking with Key Bank
in 2002; and
  WHEREAS, She became a branch manager and a licensed banker; and
  WHEREAS, Teri began working for First Niagara in  2009  and  currently
manages  the Financial Services Center in East Greenbush; she focuses on
the acquisition of new clients, working with current customers, and  the
professional development of her staff; and
  WHEREAS,  She  is  a wonderful inspiration and role model to her staff
and is most proud of the 15 promotions within her  staff  in  less  than
four years; and
  WHEREAS,  Teri  is active in the Women's Business Council of the Alba-
ny-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, serving as past co-chair of the
Women of Excellence  luncheon  and  past  co-chair  of  the  Programming
Committee; and
  WHEREAS,  She contributes her time to Ronald McDonald House Charities,
Wildwood Programs, Center for Disability Services,  Interfaith  Partner-
ship for the Homeless, Schenectady City Mission, and Habitat for Humani-
ty;  she  is also President of First Niagara's Employee Volunteer Corps;
  WHEREAS, Teri is the proud mother of Dan Cranston and Katie Gene Cran-
ston Spadafora, and the loving wife of John Spadafora; and
  WHEREAS, Teri has exhibited the true spirit of this prestigious  award
through  her impressive professional success and her tireless dedication
to her community; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
honor  Teresa  Fenner  Spadafora upon the occasion of being designated a
2013 Woman of Excellence  by  the  Albany-Colonie  Regional  Chamber  of
Commerce; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Teresa Fenner Spadafora.
