 ATIVE  RESOLUTION  congratulating Frank Sergi upon the occasion of
 ating his 100th Birthday

 S, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and  knowledge  to
 ncreasingly  active roles they play in today's society; their past
 butions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
 to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
 EAS, Frank Sergi was born on June 12, 1911; in honor of his  100th
 ay,  the  Parkway  Senior Center will be hosting it's Father's Day
 on and 100th Birthday Celebration on Thursday, June 16, 2011; and
 EAS, Born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Frank Sergi moved  to  Italy
 is family when he was a small child; at the age of 15, he returned
 e  United  States to live with his uncle's family and made his new
 n Utica, New York; and
 EAS, Frank Sergi attended Mitchel Design School in New  York  City
 ttended  Woodbury  College for Custom Design in the Furrier Trade;

 EAS, He moved back to Utica, where he owned and operated  his  own
 ss, Sergi Furrier; and
 EAS, Frank Sergi was married to the late Harriet Sergi for over 75
  the loving union produced two sons, and two grandchildren; and
 EAS,  This  exceptional  centenarian,  with his zest for life, has
 ed and enhanced the lives of his family and friends; and
 EAS, This distinguished man has experienced  the  incredible  joys
 orrows  characteristic  of and reserved for those with the stamina
 urage to savor a full life; and
 EAS, This beloved man has enriched the lives of those  around  him
 h Ins joyous and sincere love for others and through the quiescent
 and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years; and
 EAS,  It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
 hose who have reached such a remarkable age and who have witnessed
 elebrated  the  innovations,  cultural  developments  and  awesome
 ements  of  this country during the last century, while themselves
 buting to the growth and excellence of this  great  Empire  State;
 herefore, be it
 LVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
 tulate Frank Sergi upon the occasion of his 100th Birthday; and be
