LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Darrell J. Getman upon the occasion of
his  designation  as  Honor  Speaker  of Fonda-Fultonville High School's
Class of 2013, on June 22, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today,  and  leaders
of  tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
  WHEREAS, A student of singular  distinction,  Darrell  J.  Getman  has
distinguished  himself as a student of superlative ability, establishing
a high standard of academic excellence and purposefulness of life rarely
achieved in youthful years; and
  WHEREAS, Darrell Getman, through his diligence and  rigorous  efforts,
has  been  designated  Honor  Speaker of Fonda-Fultonville High School's
Class of 2013; the graduation ceremony will take place on Saturday, June
22, 2013; and
  WHEREAS, Darrell Getman, in achieving this high  academic  honor,  may
take  just  pride  in  the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; and
  WHEREAS, The son of Darrell and Lorraine Getman of Johnstown,  Darrell
Getman  is  ranked third in the Class of 2013; he will be attending SUNY
Geneseo in the fall; and
  WHEREAS, Darrell Getman is a member of  the  National  Honor  Society,
Wind  Ensemble,  and  the Key Club, and was Co-editor of the 2011 Fonda-
Fultonville High School Yearbook; and
  WHEREAS, A dedicated scholar, he is a recipient of the Frederick Doug-
lass and Susan B. Anthony Award from the University  of  Rochester,  the
2012  Student  Sage  Award,  the  Global Regents Award, and the American
History Regents Award; in addition, Darrell Getman has earned the  High-
est Average Award in both 10th and 11th grades, the Chemistry Award, the
Algebra 2/Trig Award and the Honors Geometry Award; and
  WHEREAS,  As  Darrell Getman takes his leave of Fonda-Fultonville High
School, he bequeaths a legacy of academic achievement,  school  involve-
ment and community service to which others may aspire; and
  WHEREAS,  Darrell Getman stands poised on the threshold of a broad and
challenging world; a testament to the love and  nurturing  care  of  his
family, friends and school; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor Darrell J.  Getman, a
dedicated  and able scholar, recognizing the value of his labors and the
promise of his future; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
commend  Darrell  Getman  upon  the occasion of his designation as Honor
Speaker of Fonda-Fultonville High School's Class of 2013,  to  congratu-
late  him  on his outstanding academic achievement, and to extend to him
the best wishes of this Legislative Body  for  a  future  of  purposeful
success  and well-being, appreciative of the model he represents for all
aspiring young people of the Empire State; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Darrell Getman.
