LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Meghan R. Foy upon the occasion of her
designation as Honor Speaker of Fonda-Fultonville High School's Class of
2013, on June 22, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its  long-standing  traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the  ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
  WHEREAS,  A  young  woman  of  singular distinction, Meghan R. Foy has
distinguished herself as a student of superlative ability,  establishing
a high standard of academic excellence and purposefulness of life rarely
achieved in youthful years; and
  WHEREAS,  Meghan  R.  Foy, through her diligence and rigorous efforts,
has been designated Honor Speaker  of  Fonda-Fultonville  High  School's
Class of 2013; the graduation ceremony will take place on Saturday, June
22, 2013; and
  WHEREAS,  Meghan  R.  Foy,  in achieving this high academic honor, may
take just pride in the inspiration and contribution  to  the  spirit  of
excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; and
  WHEREAS,  The  daughter of Edward and Mary Foy of Fonda, Meghan Foy is
ranked fourth in the Class of 2013; she will be attending  St.  Lawrence
University in the fall; and
  WHEREAS,  Meghan Foy is the President of the National Honor Society as
well as a member of Key Club and Marching Band; she is also a member  of
the  Fo-Jo  Swim  team,  the Softball team and Co-Captain of the Bowling
team; and
  WHEREAS, Meghan Foy is the recipient of the Clarkson Leadership Award,
the Venturing Outdoor Bronze Award, the Scholar Athlete Award,  and  the
Most Improved Bowler Award; and
  WHEREAS,  As  Meghan  R. Foy takes her leave of Fonda-Fultonville High
School, she bequeaths a legacy of academic achievement, school  involve-
ment and community service to which others may aspire; and
  WHEREAS,  Meghan  R. Foy stands poised on the threshold of a broad and
challenging world; a testament to the love and  nurturing  care  of  her
family, friends and school; and
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body  is  moved to honor Meghan R. Foy, a
dedicated and able scholar, recognizing the value of her labors and  the
promise of her future; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Meghan R. Foy upon the occasion  of  her  designation  as  Honor
Speaker  of  Fonda-Fultonville High School's Class of 2013, to congratu-
late her on her outstanding academic achievement, and to extend  to  her
the  best  wishes  of  this  Legislative Body for a future of purposeful
success and well-being, appreciative of the model she represents for all
aspiring young people of the Empire State; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Meghan R. Foy.
