Congratulating Tyler P. Prevost for his athletic achievements

LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Tyler P. Prevost upon the occasion
of  the  Le  Moyne  College  men's lacrosse team capturing the 2013 NCAA
Division II National Championship Title

WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and  physical  develop-
ment  of  the  young men and women of this State, preparing them for the
future by instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a stand-
ard of healthy living, imparting a desire for success and  developing  a
sense of fair play and competition; and
  WHEREAS,  Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit, nurtured  by
dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and
  WHEREAS,  On May 26, 2013, the Le Moyne Dolphins claimed the program's
fourth national championship by defeating Mercyhurst 11-10 in  front  of
22,511  fans  at  Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania;
  WHEREAS, Through the leadership of Dolphin Head Coach Dan Sheehan  and
the  talents  of  the  Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team members, the
Dolphins were able to tie a program record with 18 wins  on  the  season
and capture the program's 11th Northeast-10 Conference Championship; and
  WHEREAS, During the National Championship game, senior attackman Tyler
P. Prevost contributed to the team's victory by scoring one goal and two
assists; and
  WHEREAS,  Tyler P. Prevost's successes as part of the Le Moyne College
men's lacrosse team have built  upon  his  prior  accomplishments  as  a
lacrosse  player  at  Immaculate  Heart Central High School and Onondaga
Community College, as well as his family's tradition  of  excellence  in
the sport; and
  WHEREAS,  In addition to numerous other awards, Tyler Prevost has been
named Northeast-10 Conference First Team  All  League,  two  consecutive
years, is a two-time NCAA All American and is a two-time NJCAA Champion;
  WHEREAS,  Through  his  years  of dedication to the sport of lacrosse,
willingness to work as a team, relentless diligence, countless hours  of
practice  both  with  his teammates and at home with his family members,
Tyler Prevost has achieved excellence in the sport of lacrosse  through-
out  his high school and collegiate athletic careers; now, therefore, be
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Tyler P. Prevost upon the occasion of the Le Moyne College
men's lacrosse team capturing the 2013 NCAA Division II National Champi-
onship title as well as his additional athletic achievements; and be  it
  RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tyler P. Prevost.
