LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring  Artur  Pyrda upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2013 Pole  of  the  Year  Award  by  the
Polish Scholarship Fund, Inc.

WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those distinguished citizens who devote their time and  ener-
gies  to the service of their community and profession, participating in
civic affairs and enhancing the character and quality of  life  for  all
citizens; and
  WHEREAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body  is  justly  proud  to  honor
Artur  Pyrda  upon  the  occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2013 Pole of the Year Award by the Polish Scholarship Fund, Inc.; and
  WHEREAS, The Polish Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a non-profit, all volun-
teer organization based in Syracuse, New York;  it  was  established  to
give financial assistance to students of Polish descent; and
  WHEREAS, Currently a resident of Whitesboro, New York, in 1981, at the
age  of  16,  Artur  Pyrda emigrated with his family to Utica, New York,
from Krakow, Poland; and
  WHEREAS,  After  obtaining  his  Electrical  Engineering  degree  from
Buffalo University, and after working at Rome Cable, Artur Pyrda founded
Automation  Experts Incorporated (AEI), a company that currently employs
35 people; it designs and manufactures automated control equipment  used
by many local and worldwide industries; and
  WHEREAS,  In  2011,  Artur  Pyrda  was  elected president of the Utica
Polish Community Club; under his presidency, the Club's  membership  has
grown  300  per  cent; he also reaches out to both the Polish and Polish
American communities; and
  WHEREAS, Artur Pyrda and his wife, Jolanta, are the proud  parents  of
two children, Andrew and Christine; and
  WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty  service, a period of constructive involvement, Artur Pyrda has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
  WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Artur Pyrda has displayed throughout
his life; and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of  this  Legislative  Body  that  those  who
enhance  the  well-being and vitality of their profession and community,
and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence,  certainly
have  earned  the recognition and applause of all citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
honor  Artur  Pyrda upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2013 Pole of the Year Award by the Polish  Scholarship  Fund,  Inc.;
and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Artur Pyrda.
