LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating ITT Goulds Pumps upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the 2012 Business of the Year Award
by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late ITT Goulds Pumps upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2012 Business of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated on Friday, January 18, 2013, in Waterloo, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Based in Seneca Falls, New York, ITT Goulds Pumps was founded
by Seabury Goulds in 1848; the company is now owned by ITT Corporation
which employs more than 3,000 employees in 30 countries and has a global
network of 45 sales offices, and its products are installed in over 125
countries around the world; and
WHEREAS, ITT Goulds Pumps is a leading manufacturer of pumps for a
wide range of industrial markets, including chemical, mining, oil and
gas, power generation, pulp and paper, and general industry; its global
reputation for innovation and quality spans more than 160 years; and
WHEREAS, As the only manufacturer to make digital monitoring standard
on every process pump, ITT Goulds Pumps continues to lead the industry
in both mechanical pump design and the adoption of smart technologies;
and
WHEREAS, With an expansion of its current R&D laboratory and
construction of a 75,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, ITT Goulds
Pumps will invest a significant amount at the location, expanding its
capability to develop, produce and test highly engineered pumps for the
global oil and gas industry; the project includes a new state-of-the-art
test facility for high-energy pumps; and
WHEREAS, The project will add a minimum of 50 jobs in Seneca Falls;
there are currently 860 employees of the ITT Industrial Process head-
quarters, R&D laboratory, and Goulds Pumps manufacturing operations at
the site; and
WHEREAS, Ably led by Chief Executive Officer Robert J. Pagano, Jr.,
ITT Goulds Pumps continues to prosper today and into the future; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges ITT Goulds Pumps' contributions to the local and State economies,
and extends its highest commendation to this corporate enterprise, fully
confident that it will continue to enjoy the sparkling success it has
enjoyed thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate ITT Goulds Pumps upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2012 Business of the Year Award by the Seneca County
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert J. Pagano, Jr., Chief Executive Officer, ITT Goulds
Pumps.
