LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  congratulating Jake Ledoux upon the occasion of
his election as Vice President of the New York FFA

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body  to  commend  and  pay
tribute  to  those young people who, by achieving outstanding success in
their competitive endeavors have  inspired  and  brought  pride  to  our
majestic Empire State; and
  WHEREAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to  congratu-
late  Jake Ledoux upon the occasion of his election as Vice President of
the New York FFA; and
  WHEREAS, The FFA, a national youth organization,  once  known  as  the
Future  Farmers  of  America,  offers  leadership and career development
opportunities for students  interested  in  any  agriculturally  related
career; and
  WHEREAS,  One  in  five American careers is founded in agriculture and
students studying agricultural education in New York  high  schools  are
preparing for careers that are essential (food safety), current ("Green"
technology and renewable fuels) and lucrative (veterinary science); and
  WHEREAS, On May 3, 2013, Jake Ledoux, a junior at Beaver River Central
School  in Beaver Falls, New York, was elected Vice President of the New
York FFA; and
  WHEREAS, As the elected Vice President of New York  FFA,  Jake  Ledoux
will have the chance to promote these opportunities throughout the state
to students, school administrators, businesses and legislators; and
  WHEREAS,  In  his  capacity  as  Vice  President of New York FFA, Jake
Ledoux will receive over 250 hours of training and  spend  more  than  a
month on the road over his summer vacation; he will also have the oppor-
tunity  to  help  foster personal and career success for nearly 4000 FFA
members state wide, and will be  visiting  local  schools,  facilitating
workshops,  and  giving speeches to groups interested in agriculture and
education; and
  WHEREAS, Jake Ledoux resides with his parents and sister on a diversi-
fied livestock farm, the Adirondack Beef Company, in Croghan, New  York;
at  the Company, he combines real world experience with technical exper-
tise in raising beef cattle, pork, sheep and poultry; and
  WHEREAS, During his New York FFA career, Jake  Ledoux  has  served  as
Sentinel  and  Junior  Advisor;  he is currently President of the Beaver
River FFA Chapter; these positions have helped him grow in  his  leader-
ship and public speaking talents; and
  WHEREAS,  Throughout  his  FFA  career,  Jake Ledoux has done CDE's in
public speaking and job  interview  which  have  enhanced  his  personal
development;  his  entire  FFA  career has made him grow and develop his
inner potential to its fullest extent by making him  stretch  his  goals
and grow as a person; and
  WHEREAS, New York FFA has been the catalyst in the personal growth and
development of Jake Ledoux as a leader and as an effective public speak-
er; and
  WHEREAS, It is appropriate to celebrate the individual accomplishments
of remarkable young people in this great Empire State; and
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to recognize and
applaud Jake Ledoux for his noteworthy endeavors and achievements;  now,
therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Jake Ledoux upon the occasion of his election as Vice Pres-
ident of the New York FFA; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jake Ledoux.
