LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Tom Granato upon the occasion of his
designation as the Town of Huntington Man of the Year by the Townwide
Fund of Huntington, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Tom
Granato upon the occasion of his designation as the Town of Huntington
Man of the Year by the Townwide Fund of Huntington, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, The Townwide Fund of Huntington was founded in 1961 by a
group of private citizens who wanted to help local charities; the organ-
ization's essential mission was to help secure resources raised in Hunt-
ington within the community; it continues to infuse local organizations
with the support they need to provide vital health and human services to
the people of Huntington; and
WHEREAS, Serving on the Townwide Fund Volunteer Board of Directors,
Tom Granato is worthy of this meritorious honor; and
WHEREAS, Raised in Manhasset, New York, Tom Granato is a proud alumnus
of Manhasset High School where he played baseball; he graduated from St.
Leo's University in Tampa, Florida, where he served as class president;
and
WHEREAS, An avid golfer and New York Yankees fan, Tom Granato is
affiliated with the Crab Meadow Men's Club; he is loved and well-res-
pected by many in the Town of Huntington; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his parents, Salvatore and
Theresa, his siblings, Laurie and Nancy, as well as his pets, all of
whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tom Granato upon the occasion of his designation as the Town of
Huntington Man of the Year by the Townwide Fund of Huntington, Inc.; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tom Granato.
