 ATIVE  RESOLUTION commemorating the Seventh Annual Bed-Stuy Alive!
 al to be held October 8-15, 2011

 S, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that  the
 y  and  character of life in the communities across New York State
 flective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
 and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of  the
 ity and its citizenry; and
 EAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
 ng traditions, this Legislative Body is justly  proud  to  commem-
  the  Seventh  Annual  Bed-Stuy Alive! Festival to be held October
 2011, on Fulton Street, Bedford-Stuyvesant,  Brooklyn,  New  York;

 EAS,  The  Bed-Stuy  Alive!  Collective  is a joint venture of the
 d-Stuyvesant Artists' Association, the Bridge  Street  Development
 ation,  the  Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, Community
 No. 3, the Brownstoners of Bedford-Stuyvesant,  Inc.,  Project  17
   and  Associates  LTD,  the  Bedford-Stuyvesant  Gateway Business
 ement District,  the  Bedford-Stuyvesant  YMCA,  and  the  Central
 yn Community Services Corporation; and
 EAS,  Bed-Stuy  Alive!,  which promotes the best of the community,
 s its shops and businesses,  tourism  and  fine  arts  legacy  and
 s  community pride, includes live cultural performances from local
 s and community organizations and a special live concert featuring
 f Brooklyn's hippest, hottest and funkiest bands; and
 EAS, In addition to great entertainment, this free outdoor  neigh-
 d  celebration  includes  an  awards presentation honoring some of
 d-Stuyvesant's community legends; and
 EAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when  individ-
 and  organizations  of  such  noble  aims  and accomplishments are
 t to our attention, they should be celebrated  and  recognized  by
 e citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
 LVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
 orate the Seventh Annual Bed-Stuy Alive! Festival to be held Octo-
 15, 2011; and be it further
 LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
 d to the Bed-Stuy Alive! Collective.
