LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  commending  Larry Cantwell upon the occasion of
his retirement after many years of distinguished service as East Hampton
Village Administrator

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body  to  acknowledge  the
significant  milestones  in  the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions,  this  Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Larry Cantwell upon the occasion of his retirement after many  years  of
distinguished service as East Hampton Village Administrator, to be cele-
brated  with  a  party held in his honor on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the
South Fork Country Club in Amagansett, New York; and
  WHEREAS, Larry Cantwell has been the East Hampton Village  Administra-
tor  since  June  16,  1982;  his overall career encompasses 31 years of
distinguished public service which earned him the admiration, esteem and
affection of his colleagues; and
  WHEREAS, Larry Cantwell's illustrious  public  service  roles  include
serving  on  the East Hampton Town Board, the East Hampton Town Planning
Board, and the East Hampton Housing Authority; he was also  elected  Bay
Constable  at  the age of 25, becoming the Town's youngest elected offi-
cial; and
  WHEREAS, Throughout his public service career, Larry  Cantwell  served
with loyalty, honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen sense of
duty  and always showed a unique grasp of human problems in his official
acts; and
  WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Anne, and his  daugh-
ter, Dr. Laura Siska, as well as two grandchildren, Avery and Chase, all
of  whom  feel  privileged  to  be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of  this  Legislative  Body  that  those  who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained  commitment  to  the  maintenance  of  high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and  applause  of  all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Larry Cantwell upon the occasion of his  retirement  after  many
years  of  distinguished  service as East Hampton Village Administrator;
and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Larry Cantwell.
