LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring Lancaster School Superintendent Edward
J.  Myszka upon the occasion of his retirement  after  46  distinguished
years as an educator

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly  acknowledge  individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of  education  in  this  great
State; and
  WHEREAS,  The  result  of many individuals efforts, the excellence and
the success of the Lancaster School District is due in large part to the
efforts of its retiring Superintendent, Edward J. Myszka; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is justly proud to honor
Lancaster School Superintendent Edward J. Myszka upon  the  occasion  of
his retirement after 46 distinguished years as an educator; and
  WHEREAS,  Edward  Myszka  who  has  been  Superintendent  of Lancaster
Central School District since 2007 is  officially  retiring  on  Sunday,
June 30, 2013; and
  WHEREAS,  A  lifelong resident of the Town of Lancaster, Edward Myszka
is a graduate of the Lancaster Central School  District  and  the  first
alumnus  to be named Superintendent, a position he has held for the last
seven years; his career in Education at Lancaster spans 46 years; and
  WHEREAS, Edward Myszka has served the Lancaster School District  as  a
business teacher, chair of the Business Department for 12 years, advisor
to  the  DECA Club, and assistant superintendent of Business and Support
Services for 27 years; he received his  educational  administration  and
supervision  certification from the State University of New York College
at Buffalo, a master's degree in Education from the State University  of
New  York  at Buffalo and a bachelor's degree in business administration
from the State University of New York at Buffalo; and
  WHEREAS, In addition, Edward Myszka served in the United  States  Army
as  an  Operations Sergeant in the 98th Division Combat Support Training
Unit; for many years, he  served  as  treasurer  of  the  board  of  the
Lancaster-Depew  Boys  & Girls Club and is past president, treasurer and
secretary of the Lancaster Lions Club; and
  WHEREAS, Edward Myszka is also a member of the  Knights  of  Columbus,
the  Lancaster-Depew  Chamber  of Commerce, the Lancaster Elks Club, the
Loyal Order of Moose Club of Lancaster, the Lancaster Orioles  Club  and
Eagles  Nest; he is an exempt member of the Twin District Volunteer Fire
Company; and
  WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his  wife,  Marcia,  and  their
children  Joelle,  Adam  and  Jason, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
  WHEREAS, Edward Myszka  has  continually  demonstrated  an  impressive
dedication,  an  unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for
the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered in the
Lancaster School District for the benefit of its faculty  and  students,
as well as for the entire community; and
  WHEREAS,  Edward  Myszka  now  leaves behind more than mere bricks and
mortar; he leaves behind a legacy to  the  residents  of  the  Lancaster
community  and to future generations of its students; now, therefore, be
it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
honor Lancaster School Superintendent Edward J. Myszka upon the occasion
of his retirement after 46 distinguished years as an educator; and be it
further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lancaster School Superintendent Edward J. Myszka.
