LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION commending Daniel Sisto upon the occasion of his
retirement after many years of distinguished service to  the  Healthcare
Association of New York State

WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers  of  esteemed  resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
  WHEREAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body  is  justly  proud  to  honor
Daniel  Sisto  upon  the  occasion of his retirement after many years of
distinguished service to the Healthcare Association of New  York  State;
and
  WHEREAS, Daniel Sisto began his illustrious career with the Healthcare
Association  of  New York State (HANYS) in August of 1984 as Senior Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer of its consulting arm;  he  served
in this capacity for two years until he was promoted to President of the
Association; and
  WHEREAS,  Under his leadership, HANYS has developed a national reputa-
tion for its expertise in data management, effective state  and  federal
advocacy, and coalition building with diverse national interests; and
  WHEREAS,  This  valuable  leader  transformed  HANYS from a 220-member
hospital association in 1986, to a 500-member health care provider asso-
ciation in 1997; it also expanded into health care  education,  training
more than 5,000 hospital employees every year; and
  WHEREAS, Prior to his service to HANYS, Daniel Sisto was the Executive
Vice President of the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council, and Deputy Direc-
tor of the Nassau-Suffolk Health Systems Agency; and
  WHEREAS, With more than 35 years of executive leadership experience in
regulatory and competitive environments, Daniel Sisto is a highly recog-
nized  speaker on public policy, advocacy, health planning, and adminis-
tration; and
  WHEREAS, Daniel Sisto earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Manage-
ment and an M.B.A. in Marketing, both from St. John's University; he has
served on numerous task forces of the American Hospital Association  and
an array of New York State policy bodies; and
  WHEREAS,  For  the  past  29  years,  Daniel  Sisto rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to  HANYS,  earning  the  admiration,
esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
  WHEREAS, In his capacity as President, Daniel Sisto served with loyal-
ty,  honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen sense of duty and
always showed a unique grasp of human problems in his official acts; and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that  when  individ-
uals  of  such  noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all  the  citizens  of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Daniel Sisto upon the occasion of his retirement after many  years
of  distinguished  service  to  the  Healthcare  Association of New York
State; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Daniel Sisto.
