LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  commending Saul Kupferberg upon the occasion of
his designation for special honor by the Queens Botanical Garden on June
6, 2013

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and  serve  the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
  WHEREAS,  Saul  Kupferberg has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Saul Kupfer-
berg upon the occasion of his  designation  for  special  honor  by  the
Queens  Botanical  Garden, to be celebrated at its 18th Annual Rose Gala
on Thursday, June 6, 2013; and
  WHEREAS, The Queens Botanical Garden is an urban oasis  where  people,
plants and cultures are celebrated through inspiring gardens, innovative
educational  programs  and  demonstrations of environmental stewardship;
and
  WHEREAS, Saul Kupferberg has  an  Artium  Baccalaureatus  degree  from
Trinity College, as well as a Master of Arts degree from Dropsie College
of Hebrew and Cognate Learning; and
  WHEREAS, Saul Kupferberg has been affiliated with Kepco, Inc., a fami-
ly-owned  manufacturer of electronic equipment, since 1988; he now holds
the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing; and
  WHEREAS, Active within his community, Saul Kupferberg is Treasurer and
a Board Member of Queens Botanical Garden, Chair of the  Queens  College
Arts  Advisory  Council,  and Board Member of the Queens College Founda-
tion; and
  WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Gail  Coleman  Kupfer-
berg,  who feels privileged to be a part of his life and rejoices in his
achievements; and
  WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit  of  others  which  Saul  Kupferberg  has  displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Saul Kupferberg upon the occasion of his designation for special
honor by the Queens Botanical Garden on June 6, 2013; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Saul Kupferberg.
