LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Patricia M. Favreau upon the occasion of
her  retirement  after many years of distinguished public service to the
Town of Berne

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative  Body  to  acknowledge  the
significant  milestones  in  the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is justly proud to honor
Patricia M. Favreau upon the occasion of her retirement after many years
of distinguished public service to the Town of Berne; and
  WHEREAS, Patricia M. Favreau has rendered faithful, conscientious  and
valuable  service  to  the Town of Berne, earning the admiration, esteem
and affection of her colleagues; and
  WHEREAS, A resident of Berne, New York since 1943, Patricia M. Favreau
attended New York State College for Teachers at Albany; she was  elected
to  the  esteemed position of Town Clerk in 1979, and became a Certified
Municipal Clerk after completing the three  year  education  program  at
Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island; and
  WHEREAS, Patricia M. Favreau has been an active member of the New York
State  Town  Clerk's  Association  (NYSTCA) since its formation, and has
served on the Executive Committee in the capacity of Time & Place Chair,
District Director, Membership Chairman, Secretary, as well as second and
first Vice-President; she served as the NYSTCA President  from  2005  to
2007; and
  WHEREAS, Instrumental in the formation of the Town Clerk's Association
of  Albany  and  Schenectady Counties, Patricia M. Favreau has served in
the offices of President, Vice-President, and  Secretary/Treasurer;  she
is  an  active member of The International Institute of Municipal Clerks
and the Master Municipal Clerk Academy; and
  WHEREAS, Active within her community, Patricia M. Favreau was a  char-
ter  member  of  the Town of Berne Youth Council, served on the Advisory
Council of the Hilltowns Community Resource Center, as well  as  on  the
Albany County Archives Committee; she is the editor of the town newslet-
ter, THE COURIER, and was designated Town Clerk of the Year in 2010; and
  WHEREAS,  In  her  capacity  as Town Clerk, Patricia M. Favreau served
with loyalty, honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen sense of
duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems in her  official
acts; and
  WHEREAS,  In  addition  to her husband, the late John G. Favreau, with
her throughout have been her four children, ten grandchildren, and three
great-grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged to be  a  part  of  her
life and rejoice in her achievements; and
  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought  to  our  atten-
tion,  they  should  be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
honor Patricia M. Favreau upon the occasion of her retirement after many
years of distinguished service to the Town of Berne; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Patricia M. Favreau.
