LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Officer Emanuel Almog upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Civic Leadership Award by the
Aleh Foundation

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Officer Emanu-
el Almog upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Civic
Leadership Award by the Aleh Foundation, to be celebrated at its 29th
Anniversary Awards Dinner Ceremony on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the
Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City; and
WHEREAS, Aleh Foundation is honored to present the distinguished Civic
Leadership Award to Officer Emanuel Almog; he was born in Israel, as
were his three children, where his oldest daughter is currently serving
in the Israeli Military; and
WHEREAS, Officer Emanuel Almog's father was born in Jerusalem and
served in the Hagana and was an Officer with the Israeli Police Force
for about 30 years; his mother was born in Tel-Aviv; and
WHEREAS, Officer Almog's grandfather was a member of the Turkish
Police and was the Founder of the Israeli Police; he had served as an
integral part of a secret mission to save John Foster Dulles, the then
Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower; and
WHEREAS, Officer Almog studied in the high school of Aviation "Holtz"
in Holon for five years as a Jet Engine Technician and served for four
years in the Israeli Air Force; here in the United States, he has had a
successful retail business, and is currently working for the Department
of Homeland Security in Customs and Border Protection; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Officer Emanuel Almog's distin-
guished record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Officer Emanuel Almog upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Civic Leadership Award by the Aleh Foundation; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Officer Emanuel Almog.
