LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Jill Loveland of Hicksville, New
York, upon the occasion of winning the Greater Long Island Running
Club's Championship Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the State of New York who, by
achieving outstanding success in athletic competition, have inspired and
brought pride to their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Jill Loveland of Hicksville, New York, upon the occasion of winning
the Long Island Running Club's Championship Award; and
WHEREAS, Jill Loveland also won one of the five coveted Greater Long
Island Running Club's Most Improved Award based on a comprehensive anal-
ysis of her racing performances throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding athlete, Jill Loveland won these two awards by
virtue of her record in the Club's 11 race series of championship
events; and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
accomplishment, and Jill Loveland has clearly made a contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of her community; and,
WHEREAS, Jill Loveland's distinguished record merits the recognition
and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Jill Loveland of Hicksville, New York, upon the occasion of
winning the Greater Long Island Running Club's Championship; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jill Loveland.
