LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Cow Bay Theatre Company upon the
occasion of performing its first production, "Love Letters"

WHEREAS, The arts, in whatever form depicted, are central to human
expression; they are truly a universal language and their contribution
to the development of friendship and understanding among all peoples
cannot be underestimated; and
WHEREAS, The history, the heritage, and the lives of the people of all
countries and all cultures are portrayed in their music, dance and
performance; the art and act of sharing them enriches us altogether; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the Cow Bay
Theatre Company upon the occasion of performing its first production,
"Love Letters," from January 24- 26, 2013, in Port Washington, New York;
and
WHEREAS, "Love Letters," a play written by the Pulitzer Prize-winner
A.R. Gurney, is about a man and woman who were born into the privileged
class in mid-century America; and
WHEREAS, In addition to holding its premier production, the Cow Bay
Theatre Company celebrated at its First Annual Award Reception on Thurs-
day, January 24, 2013; and
WHEREAS, On this most auspicious occasion, the Cow Bay Theatre Company
presented its inaugural awards to Burt Young, the Peter and Jeri Dejana
Family Foundation, and Angela Susan Anton; and
WHEREAS, The Cow Bay Theatre Company aims to stimulate interest and
foster the development and appreciation of the dramatic arts, as well as
to promote the social and intellectual well-being of the community by
encouraging the study and improvement of the arts as they relate to the
theater; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay
tribute to those organizations and individuals whose commitment and
creative talents contribute to the entertainment and cultural enrichment
of the citizens of the State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Cow Bay Theatre Company upon the occasion of performing its
first production, "Love Letters"; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Cow Bay Theatre Company.
