LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Barbara Shenise upon the occasion of her
retirement after 21 years of distinguished service to the Village of
Greenwood Lake

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Barbara Shenise upon the occasion of her retirement after 21 years of
distinguished service to the Village of Greenwood Lake, to be celebrated
on Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Greenwood Lake Elks Lodge 2067 in
Greenwood Lake, New York; and
WHEREAS, For over two decades, Barbara Shenise rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Village of Greenwood Lake as
Court Clerk; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Shenise began working as the Village of Greenwood
Lake's Court Clerk on June 3, 1991, under Judge John Miller; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious career, Barbara Shenise has worked
under five different Acting Judges: Justice Kiedash, Justice Conroy,
Justice Comerford, Justice Newman and Justice Barlett; and
WHEREAS, Since 2003, Barbara Shenise has served under Judge Nancy
DeAngelo with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Barbara Shenise was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Village of Greenwood Lake, Barbara
Shenise earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues;
and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Harrison, her
children and grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Barbara Shenise upon the occasion of her retirement after 21 years
of distinguished service to the Village of Greenwood Lake; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barbara Shenise.
