LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Mr. and Mrs. William Streeter upon
the occasion of celebrating their 61st Wedding Anniversary

WHEREAS, Jeannette Daly and William Streeter were united in marriage on
September 29, 1951, at the Honeyville Baptist Church, with the Reverend
Charles B. Wallace officiating; and
WHEREAS, The bride is the daughter of the late Merton and lone Daly,
and the groom, the son of the late William and Carrie Streeter; and
WHEREAS, William Streeter graduated from Belleville Union Academy in
1947, and from the Watertown School of Commerce in 1948; and
WHEREAS, William Streeter began working in the Jefferson County
Savings Bank, later the Chase Lincoln First Bank in 1948, and served as
bank manager for several years, retiring in 1987; furthermore, he worked
as a self-employed real estate appraiser for four years; and
WHEREAS, Since April of 1973, William Streeter has been a Mason, and
served as District Deputy Grandmaster for the Jefferson-Lewis District;
and
WHEREAS, William Streeter was also involved with the Royal Arch
Masons, the King David Council, and was a member of both the Lions Club
and the Kiwanis Club; and
WHEREAS, Jeannette Streeter graduated from Adams Center Central High
School in 1950, and began working at the Agricultural Insurance Company
in Watertown that same year; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Jeannette Streeter worked at a coffee shop at
the Insurance Company until it merged with Great American Insurance
Company; and
WHEREAS, Jeannette Streeter was active in Home Bureau for many years;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Streeter enjoy traveling, square dancing,
hiking, canoeing, snowmobiling and camping, and have been active members
of the First Baptist Church since 1953; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Streeter are the parents of two children, Brenda
of Cicero, and Dale of Central Square, and the proud grandparents of six
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. William Streeter are and always have been a
tower of strength, support, understanding and limitless love for their
family; and
WHEREAS, Their love, devotion, caring, sensitivity and responsiveness
to their family, friends and all who know them are their hallmark and
tradition; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. William Streeter have lived and continue to live
their lives with great dignity and genuine grace, always demonstrating a
deep and continuing concern for human values and ideals, and in so
doing, they have inspired others to do the same; and
WHEREAS, This meaningful occasion is the result of the love, hard work
and spirit that this couple has invested in their marriage; and
WHEREAS, They have passed these same values to their loved ones,
producing a family that is close-knit and supportive of its individual
members, public-minded in its relations to the community and committed
to the ideals of citizenship upon which this Nation was founded; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. William Streeter have touched the lives of their
family and many friends through the shining example of their marriage,
which is a testament to the devotion and admiration which they possess
for one another; and
WHEREAS, The longevity of this enduring marriage truly marks a mile-
stone in life's journey, an event of personal triumph and joy; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an occa-
sion of such importance is brought to our attention, the same should be
memorialized by us for the edification and emulation of others; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mr. and Mrs. William Streeter upon the occasion of cele-
brating their 61st Wedding Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mr. and Mrs. William Streeter.
