LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Gruss Life Monument Funds, Inc. and
the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education, Inc. upon the occasion
of their designation for special tribute by the Hebrew Academy of the
Five Towns and Rockaway at its 35th Annual Dinner on March 10, 2013

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in the Empire State are
greatly enriched by the faithful and generous service of those who
devote themselves to endeavors of family, faith and community, and to
the education of the youth of the community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals of such magnanimous conduct and bearing who demon-
strate a deep and continuing concern for others, and in so doing,
inspire others to do the same; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Gruss Life Monument Funds, Inc. and the Center for Initiatives in Jewish
Education, Inc. upon the occasion of their designation by the Hebrew
Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR) for special tribute at
its 35th Annual Dinner, to be held in HAFTR's Sports Complex on Sunday,
March 10, 2013; and
WHEREAS, The greatest asset of any society is its children and the
hope and promise they represent for the future; the Hebrew Academy of
the Five Towns and Rockaway, of Lawrence, New York, has a proud and rich
history of providing its students with an educational and religious
foundation which is both strong and enduring; and
WHEREAS, Each year at its Annual Dinner, the Hebrew Academy of the
Five Towns and Rockaway honors members of the school community and the
community at large in recognition and appreciation of their support of
the yeshiva and its mission; this year at its 35th Annual Dinner it will
proudly pay tribute to Gruss Life Monument Funds, Inc. and the Center
for Initiatives in Jewish Education, Inc.(CIJE); and
WHEREAS, HAFTR is, this year, extremely proud to pay tribute to Gruss
Life Monument Funds, Inc. and the Center for Initiatives in Jewish
Education, Inc. in recognition and appreciation of their generous
support which has assisted HAFTR in completing its new playground for
its Lower Campus and its new Sports Complex; and
WHEREAS, CIJE has also been involved in outreach to each of HAFTR's
divisions in many academic and technological areas; and
WHEREAS, Both Gruss Life Monument Funds, Inc. and the Center for
Initiatives in Jewish Education, Inc. have been active as well in help-
ing HAFTR students excel in math and science, reading and writing, and
thinking and reasoning in order to help ensure that they will be well
equipped for tomorrow's challenges and opportunities, providing innova-
tive programming, cutting-edge technology, and vital support truly earn-
ing HAFTR's gratitude and appreciation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Gruss Life Monument Funds, Inc. and the Center for Initiatives
in Jewish Education, Inc. upon the occasion of their designation by the
Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR) for special trib-
ute at its 35th Annual Dinner on March 10, 2013; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gruss Life Monument Funds, Inc. and the Center for Initi-
atives in Jewish Education, Inc.
