LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Victor Badner and Frieda Kraft upon
the occasion of their designation by Westchester Jewish Center as the
Guests of Honor at its Annual Dinner Dance on March 5, 2011

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in the Empire State is great-
ly enriched by the faithful and generous service of those who devote
themselves to endeavors of family, faith and community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals of such magnanimous conduct and bearing who demon-
strate a deep and continuing concern for others, and in so doing,
inspire others to do the same; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Victor Badner and Frieda Kraft upon the occasion of their designation as
the Guests of Honor at the Annual Dinner Dance of Westchester Jewish
Center (WJC), a conservative synagogue in Mamaroneck, New York on Satur-
day, March 5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the course of their service to Westchester Jewish
Center, Victor Badner and Frieda Kraft have exhibited uncommon valor and
wisdom; their involvement and leadership have been characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all their endeavors on behalf of the synagogue
and their community; and
WHEREAS, Over the past 22 years, Victor Badner and his wife Frieda
Kraft have brought their thoughtfulness and experience to the Westches-
ter Jewish Center in many different ways and many congregants have, in
addition, enjoyed seeing them perform in the annual WJC Purimspiel; and
WHEREAS, Victor Badner is a long-time Westchester Jewish Center Trus-
tee and, currently, a Vice President of the Center; he has devoted many
hours of his time to help make WJC a better place for all members of the
Center and has also been an active member of its Brotherhood and Ritual
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Also well-known and highly respected in his profession,
Victor Badner, in addition to his work on behalf of the Westchester
Jewish Center, is the Chairman of the Department of Dentistry/Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery at the North Bronx Healthcare Network and Presi-
dent of its Medical Executive Board; he is also an Associate Professor
at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was, in addition, recently
appointed to the New York State Commission on Graduate Medical Educa-
tion; and
WHEREAS, Frieda Kraft also served as a WJC Trustee for six years and
as a member of its Board of Education and has been a valued member of
numerous Westchester Jewish Center committees, including the Scholar-in-
Residence, Membership, Ritual, and Dinner Dance Committees; and
WHEREAS, Active in her community as well as her synagogue, Frieda
Kraft currently co-chairs the Selection Committee for the Mamaroneck
Union Free School District Board of Education and is a member of the
Planning Council at Mamaroneck High School and a volunteer instructor
for the Red Cross; and
WHEREAS, In recognizing Victor Badner and Frieda Kraft for their many
years of inspirational and devoted service to the synagogue and their
faith, Westchester Jewish Center proudly honors a couple who exemplify
the highest aims and ideals of Judaism, adherence to Torah and mitzvot,
maintenance of the traditions of the Jewish people, and commitment to
their community; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to extend its highest commen-
dation to Victor Badner and Frieda Kraft for their dedication and
commitment to their community and their heritage; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, This Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to pay
tribute to Victor Badner and Frieda Kraft upon the occasion of their
designation as the Guests of Honor at the Annual Dinner Dance of West-
chester Jewish Center on March 5, 2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Victor Badner and Frieda Kraft.
