LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Thomas D. Amodio upon the occasion of
his designation as Citizen of the Year by the Middletown Elks Lodge No.
1097

WHEREAS, Tt is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Thomas D. Amodio upon the occasion of his designation as Citizen of the
Year by the Middletown Elks Lodge No. 1097, to be celebrated at its Elk
of the Year Dinner Dance on Saturday, February 9, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Amodio truly exemplifies the spirit, commitment and
dedication required to receive this most prestigious honor; and
WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Thomas Amodio has been called
upon to contribute his time and talents to countless endeavors for the
Middletown Elks Lodge No. 1097 and has always given of himself unstint-
ingly; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Middletown, New York, Thomas Amodio
has been a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge No. 1097 for 24 years; he
has been a member of the Middletown Fire Department for over 30 years,
currently serving as Fire Chief; and
WHEREAS, Chairman of the Middletown Zoning Board of Appeals, Thomas
Amodio is a foreman for the Orange County Department of Public Works,
and has been an employee for over 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Thomas Amodio has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Thomas Amodio has displayed through-
out his life; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Lindsey, who feels
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoices in his achievements;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Thomas D. Amodio upon the occasion of his designation as Citizen
of the Year by the Middletown Elks Lodge No. 1097; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thomas D. Amodio.
