LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Fred Field for 50 years of dedicated
service as a member of Rotary International on February 14, 2013

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Fred Field has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Fred Field for
50 years of dedicated service as a member of Rotary International, to be
celebrated at the Rotary Club meeting on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at
the Queensbury Hotel, Glens Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, Fred Field has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A former member of the New York State Assembly, Fred Field
has been an active and involved member of his community for more than
half a century; and
WHEREAS, Fred Field ably served as the Supervisor of the Town of Colo-
nie from 1978-1995; and
WHEREAS, Fred Field has been a dedicated Rotarian since he began as a
member of the Latham Rotary Club in 1963; and
WHEREAS, In 2002, Fred Field joined the Glens Falls Rotary Club where
he has demonstrated his compassion for others through his tireless
community service; and
WHEREAS, Fred Field has served on numerous boards and committees
including his role as member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for
Glens Falls Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Fred Field has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Fred Field has displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Fred Field for 50 years of dedicated service as a member of Rotary
International on February 14, 2013; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Fred Field.
