LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Fire Chief Todd Roland of Cheektowaga,
New York, upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2013
Liberty Mutual Firemark Award for Heroism

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to call attention to the heroic
actions of those individuals who take prompt and appropriate action in
fire emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the caring concern and heroic acts of individuals who take
prompt and appropriate action in emergency situations, nobly risking
their own lives while in the course of performing their job duties; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to honor Fire Chief Todd
Roland of Cheektowaga, New York, upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2013 Liberty Mutual Firemark Award for Heroism, to be
celebrated on Wednesday, February 20, 2013; and
WHEREAS, On August 1, 2012, Chief Todd Roland assisted in the rescue
of his fellow firefighter, Keith Broad, who suffered major wounds; and
WHEREAS, Chief Roland is a full-time cardio-thoracic physician's
assistant; he is a true asset to society; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body, representing the people of this great
State of New York, is proud to recognize and commend Chief Todd Roland
for his professionalism as well as his consummate bravery while perform-
ing his duty, which serves as an inspiration to us all; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Fire Chief Todd Roland of Cheektowaga, New York, upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the 2013 Liberty Mutual Firemark
Award for Heroism; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Fire Chief Todd Roland.
