LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Commissioner Chris Engel upon the occa-
sion of his designation for special recognition after 40 years of
distinguished service to the Garden City Park Fire Department

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes great pride in acknowledging those
esteemed individuals within the State of New York who distinguish them-
selves faithfully in service to their community; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Commissioner
Chris Engel upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition
after 40 years of distinguished service to the Garden City Park Fire
Department, to be celebrated at its Annual Installation Dinner on Satur-
day, February 16, 2013, in Garden City, New York; and
WHEREAS, Citizens across our State and Nation are inspired by and
indebted to our valiant firefighters who exhibit courage and bravery
every day in the course of their duties; and
WHEREAS, Firefighters exemplify the power of human compassion and the
strength of the American spirit through actions of the most heroic
magnitude; their sacrifices and their selfless dedication merit tribute
and recognition by all citizens of this great country; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to join with the Garden City
Park Fire Department expressing its sincere appreciation for Commission-
er Chris Engel for his many years of exemplary service; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Commissioner Chris Engel upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition after 40 years of distinguished service to the
Garden City Park Fire Department; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Commissioner Chris Engel.
