LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Daniel J. Cucci of Bing-
hamton, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to mourn publicly
cherished citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is with deep regret that this Legislative Body records the
passing of Daniel J. Cucci of Binghamton, New York, at the age of 49, on
Thursday, January 31, 2013 following an extended illness; and
WHEREAS, Daniel J. Cucci was a graduate of St. Patrick's School, Seton
Catholic Central High School, Class of 1981, and Onondaga Community
College; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Cucci served as Cantor for the Diocese of Syracuse
from 1985 until 1988; he truly enjoyed many tours to Italy and Ireland
between 1994 and 2003 and had the honor and privilege of having three
separate audiences with Pope John Paul II; and
WHEREAS, For many years Daniel Cucci sang at funerals, weddings,
parties and entertained at numerous occasions in Broome County; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Cucci was a member of St. Patrick's Church, the
Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the Sons of Italy; and
WHEREAS, Daniel J. Cucci's family gratefully acknowledges the wonder-
ful care he received from Lourdes at Home, the entire staff at Bingham-
ton General Hospital, Wilson Memorial Medical Center, and his many
friends who have supported him during his illness, and
WHEREAS, Daniel J. Cucci was predeceased by his father, Samuel J.
Cucci, Jr. in 1972; he is survived by his mother, Lucille A. (Gennarel-
li) Cucci; a sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Michael French;
brothers and sisters-in-law Samuel and Pamela Cucci, James Cucci and
Kathy Guinan, Michael Cucci as well as four nieces and two nephews:
Jennifer Cucci, Elizabeth French, Kelly French, Kristin Wood and her
husband Aaron, Adam Cucci, and Evan Cucci; two great nephews, Liam and
Nolan Wood; an uncle and his wife, James and Janet Gennarelli, and his
aunt Rose Cucci; and
WHEREAS, Over his meritorious life Daniel J. Cucci distinguished
himself as a man of talent, sincere dedication and substantial contrib-
ution; his legacy will forever live on through his family, friends and
colleagues, and the many lives he touched throughout his life; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to pay
tribute to Daniel J. Cucci, to celebrate his life, and to honor his
accomplishments; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Daniel J. Cucci's mother, Lucille A. Cucci.
