LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Hugh I. Henderson upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2013 Eugene A. Bettiol Jr. Distin-
guished Citizen Award by the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Hugh
Henderson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2013
Eugene A. Bettiol Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award by the Otsego County
Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its annual dinner on Friday,
March 22, 2013, in Oneonta, New York; and
WHEREAS, Hugh Henderson, a 24-year member of the Otsego County Board
of Representatives and 12-year member of the Oneonta Town Board, is
grateful for this prestigious award; and
WHEREAS, Hugh Henderson has been a member of the Otsego County Indus-
trial Development Agency, a farmer for many years and has a distin-
guished career as a civil servant and has served the county for close to
36 years; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Hugh Henderson has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of his colleagues, family and friends; someone
known and respected for his humility and wisdom; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Hugh I. Henderson has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Hugh Henderson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2013 Eugene A. Bettiol Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award by the
Otsego Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Hugh I. Henderson.
