LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending The Jewish Federation of Greater
Orange County upon the occasion of hosting its L'Dor V'Dor celebration
on March 3, 2013, and applauding the 2013 honorees

WHEREAS, The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County has clearly
demonstrated true compassion and commitment which merit the appreciation
and commendation of this Legislative Body and the people of the State of
New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to recognize and
commend The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County upon the occasion
of hosting its L'Dor V'Dor (From Generation to Generation) celebration
on March 3, 2013, and to applaud its honorees of the evening; and
WHEREAS, The L'Dor V'Dor celebration, to be held at Congregation Eitz
Chaim in Monroe, New York on Sunday, March 3, 2013, honors and pays
tribute to the generations of families which have contributed so much to
the synagogues of Orange County, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County cares for
people in need and nurtures and sustains the Orange County Jewish commu-
nity for future generations; it cherishes the values of compassion,
charity, generosity and responsibility, all of which improve the quality
of life for the Jewish community in Orange County, in Israel, and around
the world; and
WHEREAS, Caring for those in need, The Jewish Federation of Greater
Orange County believes every Jewish individual deserves to be healthy,
independent, and active; the programs it supports help feed, clothe,
shelter, counsel and rescue thousands of people in Orange County, in
Israel, and around the world; and
WHEREAS, The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County provides a
number of services and resources to assist the families, friends and
neighbors in Orange County grow their faith and cement their role in the
Jewish community; and
WHEREAS, Each Orange County Synagogue has designated a family to
joyfully honor at this year's L'Dor V'Dor celebration; and
WHEREAS, Congregation Agudas Israel will honor the Copans family;
Congregation Beth Hillel, the Friedland family; Congregation B'nai
Torah, the Weisslander family; Congregation Eitz Chaim, the Marshall
family; Temple Beth Jacob, the Sacks family; Temple Beth El, the Robin-
son family; Temple Beth Shalom, the Hannes family; Temple Sinai, the
Lederman family; and Monroe Temple Beth El, the Rosmarin family; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County upon the occasion
of hosting its L'Dor V'Dor celebration on March 3, 2013, and to applaud
the 2013 honorees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County and to each of
the honored families.
