LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Mildred Trudeau upon the occasion
of celebrating her 104th Birthday on September 19, 2012

WHEREAS, Mildred "Millie" Trudeau of Carthage, New York, was born in
Utica, New York, on September 19, 1908, the daughter of Henry and Edith
Philpott; and
WHEREAS, Her family, friends and fellow residents of the Long Falls
Apartments joyfully celebrated Millie Trudeau's 104th Birthday on
September 19, 2012, with birthday cake and memories of life, her friend-
ship and her kind heart; and
WHEREAS, An athlete in her youth, Millie Trudeau broke her school
track record in Utica, where she was known for running the 100-yard dash
barefoot; and
WHEREAS, She married Theodore R. Trudeau on July 18, 1929, and raised
six children, Ted Jr., Alice, Jeanne and Nadine, who predeceased their
mother, and Pierre and Gail who attended her 104th birthday celebration;
and
WHEREAS, Millie Trudeau and her husband were known for their dancing
and particularly enjoyed square dancing at Black River Valley Fiddler
events; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional centenarian, with her zest for life, has
inspired and enhanced the lives of her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished woman, who has experienced the incredible
joys and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those with the
stamina and courage to savor a full life, has inspired the lives of her
many friends and family; and
WHEREAS, This beloved lady has enriched the lives of those around her
through her joyous and sincere love for others and through the quiescent
charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have witnessed
and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and awesome
achievements of this country during the last century, while themselves
contributing to the growth and excellence of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Millie Trudeau upon the occasion of her 104th Birthday; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mildred Trudeau.
