LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Empire Tractor, Inc. of Batavia,
New York, upon the occasion of its designation as the recipient of the
2012 Agricultural Business of the Year Award by the Genesee County Cham-
ber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business organ-
izations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Empire Tractor, Inc. of Batavia, New York, upon the occasion of its
designation as the recipient of the 2012 Agricultural Business of the
Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; this auspicious
occasion will be celebrated at the Chamber's Annual Awards Ceremony, to
be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Clarion Hotel; and
WHEREAS, Empire Tractor, Inc. of Batavia, New York, is a long-standing
farm equipment dealer with stores in Batavia, Waterloo, Cortland, North
Cohocton, Cazenovia and Syracuse; it employs a total of 95 personnel, 19
in Batavia, New York; and
WHEREAS, Empire Tractor, Inc. traces its roots back to when owner Tim
Call's father, Robert, purchased Batavia Farm Equipment in 1960; the
business was previously known as Tri-County Tractor until merging with
RMC and Fingerlakes Tractor in 2000 to form Empire Tractor; and
WHEREAS, In March 2012, Empire Tractor, Inc. held the grand opening of
its new facility in Batavia, New York, at the site of the former Ogni-
bene Ford dealership; the 22,000 square-foot building and two adjacent
buildings allowed the company to expand its business; and
WHEREAS, Empire Tractor, Inc. of Batavia, New York, is actively
involved in the community and a member of the Batavia Rotary Club as
well as other community organizations; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Empire Tractor,
Inc. of Batavia, New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought
to our attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Empire Tractor, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation
as the recipient of the 2012 Agricultural Business of the Year Award by
the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Empire Tractor, Inc., Batavia, New York.
