LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Ilona Jagnow, outgoing President of
the Freeport Chamber of Commerce, for her outstanding service and
commitment to her community

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry who contribute to the
economic health and prosperity, and to the quality of life, of the
communities of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is proud to commend Ilona
Jagnow, outgoing President of the Freeport Chamber of Commerce, for her
outstanding service and commitment to her community; and
WHEREAS, Ilona Jagnow will be honored at the Freeport Chamber of
Commerce Annual installation Dinner Dance to be held at The Chateau
Briand in Carle Place on Friday, April 5, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Local Chambers of Commerce have made important contributions
to New York State's progress and prosperity and have long been integral
to the State's economic development; and
WHEREAS, In keeping with the proud tradition of New York State's local
Chambers of Commerce, under Ilona Jagnow's leadership the Freeport Cham-
ber of Commerce has worked to bring individuals, organizations and
institutions together to advance the commercial, financial, industrial
and civic interests of Freeport; and
WHEREAS, Ilona Jagnow, proprietor of Otto's Grill, has been a valued
and involved member of the Freeport Chamber of Commerce and has served
it and Freeport ably; she has served the Chamber in many capacities,
most recently as President; and
WHEREAS, Individuals, such as Ilona Jagnow, who give of their time and
energy and serve the best interests of their communities are an asset
beyond remuneration and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Ilona Jagnow has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership, working diligently
and with great enthusiasm to improve Freeport and surrounding communi-
ties; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her many years of service as an officer of the
Freeport Chamber of Commerce, a period of constructive involvement,
Ilona Jagnow has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the citizens and businesses of Freeport which has been displayed
by Ilona Jagnow; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Ilona Jagnow, outgoing President of the Freeport Chamber of
Commerce, for her outstanding service and commitment to her community;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ilona Jagnow.
