LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Bruce A. Loertscher,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Bruce A. Loertscher of Wallkill, New York, died on Wednesday,
February 13, 2013, at the age of 56; and
WHEREAS, Born on May 15, 1956, in Newburgh, New York, Bruce A.
Loertscher was the son of Godfred J. and Helen (Williams) Loertscher;
and
WHEREAS, On April 16, 1982, Bruce A. Loertscher married Judith in
Newburgh, New York; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Plattekill, New York, Bruce A.
Loertscher was the third generation to proudly run his family farm;
after retiring from Yellow Freight, he became active in the local
government of the town he loved; and
WHEREAS, Bruce A. Loertscher served as a member of the Plattekill Town
Planning Board, Town Board, and since 2006, as Town Supervisor; at the
time of his death, he held the esteemed position of Supervisor for the
Town of Plattekill; and
WHEREAS, Bruce A. Loertscher distinguished himself in his profession
and by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the
welfare of his community; and
WHEREAS, Bruce A. Loertscher's commitment to excellence, and his spir-
it of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Always smiling and ready to offer a helping hand, Bruce A.
Loertscher took pride in the wonderful community he had the privilege to
serve; and
WHEREAS, Bruce A. Loertscher is survived by his wife, Judith Loertsch-
er; and his two daughters and their fiancees, Deanna Loertscher and
Matthew Rotjan, and Courtney Loertscher and Kyle Frano; as well as one
uncle, Walter Loertscher; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Bruce A. Loertscher leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Bruce A. Loertscher, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Bruce A. Loertscher.
