LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Immediate Past President Edgar J.
Schutz for his distinguished service to the Kiwanis Club of County Seat,
Mineola, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals who have given of themselves in support of the
good works and worthy accomplishments of organizations dedicated to
fellowship and service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Immediate Past President Edgar J. Schutz for his distinguished service
to the Kiwanis Club of County Seat, Mineola, Inc., to be celebrated at
its Charter Night on March 11, 2013, in Mineola, New York; and
WHEREAS, Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers
dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time;
and
WHEREAS, A past member of Williston Park Kiwanis, Edgar Schutz has
lived in Mineola for 35 years; a widower, he is retired from the Elec-
trical Board of Mineola; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of the American Flyers Flight School at MacArthur
Airport and a licensed instrument pilot, Edgar Schutz enjoys swimming
and bowling, as well as traveling and going on cruises; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Edgar Schutz has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Edgar Schutz has displayed through-
out his life; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his children, Edward, David and
Roy, his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom
feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achieve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Immediate Past President Edgar J. Schutz for his distinguished
service to the Kiwanis Club of County Seat, Mineola, Inc.; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Edgar J. Schutz.
