LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Andrew Farrell of Herricks High
School upon the occasion of winning Division I All-Nassau County wrestl-
ing honors

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes pleasure in honoring talented high
school athletes who distinguish themselves and their community through
outstanding athletic performance; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success and developing a sense of
fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
congratulate Andrew Farrell of Herricks High School upon the occasion of
winning Division I All-Nassau County wrestling honors; and
WHEREAS, In the course of capturing Division I All-Nassau County
honors, Andrew Farrell of Herricks High School pinned his first two
opponents to reach the semifinals of the New York State Sectional Wres-
tling Tournament and finished up his outstanding high school scholastic
wrestling career with his 22nd pin victory of the season and 66th career
pin; in so doing, he established a new Herricks High School record; and
WHEREAS, In compiling 110 career varsity victories, Andrew Farrell is
in fifth place on the Herricks High School Highlander career leader
board; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Farrell has won All-Conference wrestling honors as a
freshman, sophomore, junior and senior; he is also a two-time Conference
Champion; he has won 26 varsity tournament places, reached the finals 15
times and won 11 gold medals; and
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice; Andrew Farrell's dedication to wrestl-
ing is a year-round, everyday commitment; he is highly focused and has
developed a matchless work ethic; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Farrell's exemplary performance is reflective of his
dedication, determination and personal commitment; his achievements
stand as a hallmark of what is best in the families, schools and commu-
nities across New York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Andrew Farrell of Herricks High School upon the occasion of
winning Division I All-Nassau County wrestling honors, and to commend
him for the enduring honor he has brought to his family, his school and
his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Andrew Farrell.
