LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring past Metropolitan Transportation Author-
ity Police Benevolent Association President Raymond Gimmler upon the
occasion of his retirement

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those esteemed
individuals who distinguish themselves in service to the cause of work-
ing men and women in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor past
Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Benevolent Association
President Raymond Gimmler upon the occasion of his retirement, to be
celebrated on April 11, 2013, at the Coral House in Baldwin, New York;
and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Nassau County, New York, Raymond
Gimmler became a member of the Long Island Rail Road Police Department
on March 12, 1981; he served as 1st Vice President of the Long Island
Rail Road PBA, and was a Legislative Committee member of the Metropol-
itan Police Conference; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Gimmler was the driving force behind the August 10,
1998, legislation where the members of both unions voted and formed the
Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Benevolent Association; and
WHEREAS, Retiring from the MTA Police with over 31 years of service as
a police officer on December 31, 2012, Raymond Gimmler also served as
Vice President of the New York State Association of PBA's; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Raymond Gimmler served with intelli-
gence and caring dedication, continuously striving to effectively
fulfill the duties of his position; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend past Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Benevolent
Association President Raymond Gimmler upon the occasion of his retire-
ment; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Raymond Gimmler.
