LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Uniondale Early Childhood Center
upon the occasion of hosting its Awards Gala

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those institutions and individuals whose true purpose and
unwavering commitment are dedicated to the education of the youth of
this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Uniondale Early Childhood Center upon the occasion of hosting its
Awards Gala on Sunday, April 7, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This special event will recognize several individuals being
honored and their years of service at the Center, including both employ-
ees and volunteers; they are: Teachers Harold Alford, Barbara Riddick,
Adela Flores, and Marie Phillips, along with Nurse April Garcy, as well
as volunteers, Dr. Horace Hawthorne and Sydni Baker; and
WHEREAS, Uniondale Early Childhood Center provides convenient,
consistent child care services for working families; the Center is
responsible for providing qualified staff, a safe environment and quali-
ty care; and
WHEREAS, Uniondale Early Childhood Center provides a nutritious break-
fast, lunch and one snack per day; it specializes in caring for young
children, as young as six weeks old; and
WHEREAS, With security, love and encouragement, Uniondale Early Child-
hood Center has created an environment that is caring and supportive; it
is the Center's belief that children are naturally eager to learn, and
when given encouragement and an appropriately stimulating environment,
they will absorb information as quickly as it can be provided; and
WHEREAS, The programs at Uniondale Early Childhood Center provide
open-ended activities and experiences that encourage the creativity and
imagination of children; the Center believes that parents are the most
important people in their children's lives, and also feels that the more
involved parents are in the program, the better for the children; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Uniondale Early Childhood Center upon the occasion of host-
ing its Awards Gala; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Uniondale Early Childhood Center, and to the aforemen-
tioned honorees.
