LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Greater
Patchogue Chamber of Commerce on March 20, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations who give of their time and
energies and serve the best interests of their communities are an asset
beyond remuneration and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 90th Anniversary of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce;
this auspicious occasion will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 20,
2013, at Lombardi's on the Bay; and
WHEREAS, Originally founded on March 4, 1923, the Patchogue Chamber of
Commerce was re-incorporated as the Greater Patchogue Chamber of
Commerce on March 12, 1999; its Foundation was chartered as a not-for-
profit corporation in 2003; and
WHEREAS, The Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic, ener-
getic and respected business organization that facilitates both economic
and social growth in support of its members and the community; it is
consistently evolving by discovering, then providing, business
solutions, educational resources, networking, marketing and advocacy;
and
WHEREAS, Valuing pride, quality and teamwork, the Greater Patchogue
Chamber of Commerce is organized to: advance the commercial, industrial,
agricultural, recreational, professional, moral and civic interests of
the Greater Patchogue area; promote integrity and good faith, just and
equitable principles in business and uniformity in commercial usage
where possible; acquire, preserve and distribute relevant statistics and
information; and represent the Patchogue area in the consideration and
determination of the community, educational, village, town, county,
state and national issues; and
WHEREAS, On March 20, 2013, the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce
will celebrate its 90th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, The 90th Anniversary of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of
Commerce presents an auspicious and unique opportunity for this Legisla-
tive Body to recognize and pay tribute to this outstanding organization;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
organizations such as the 90th Anniversary of the Greater Patchogue
Chamber of Commerce which serve to bring people together for the united
purpose of actively pursuing improvements in their communities; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
