LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Jewish Child Care Association upon
the occasion of hosting its Celebration of Hope event

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Jewish Child Care Association upon the occasion of hosting its Cele-
bration of Hope event on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Capitale in New
York City; and
WHEREAS, Serving children and families of all faiths and backgrounds,
the Jewish Child Care Association (JCCA) is a comprehensive child and
family services agency that works with many, including children who have
been neglected or abused, immigrant Jewish families, and those building
new lives; and
WHEREAS, JCCA, a not-for-profit, comprehensive, multicultural agency,
has been serving children and families since 1822; its programs in New
York City, Westchester County and Long Island include: group and family
day care, mental health and preventive services, education programs, a
residential diagnostic center, foster homes, group homes and residential
services for children and adolescents, preventive services, independent
living skills training, adoption programs, and services to the Jewish
community; and
WHEREAS, JCCA helps more than 16,000 children and families every year
and is consistently rated at the highest levels for the quality of its
programs; its mission is to meet the child welfare and mental health
needs of all children and their families in the New York metropolitan
area; and
WHEREAS, JCCA's highly trained, dedicated staff works collaboratively
with families to build on their strengths, preserve the family when
possible, and help create new families when necessary so that all chil-
dren may thrive by having a sense of family, culture and community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Jewish Child Care Association upon the occasion of hosting
its Celebration of Hope event; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Jewish Child Care Association.
