 ATIVE   RESOLUTION  memorializing  Governor  Andrew  M.  Cuomo  to
 im February 2011 as United  Way  2-1-1  Susquehanna  River  Region


 S,  It  is  the custom of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
 e to those vital programs throughout the State of New  York  whose
 eful  endeavors serve to enhance the quality of life in the commu-
 ; and
 EAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
 ng traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to memori-
  Governor  Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim February 2011 as United Way
 Susquehanna River Region Month; and
 EAS, United Way 2-1-1 Susquehanna River Region will  be  launching
 -1-1  service to benefit the 250,000 residents of Broome and Tioga
 es, to be observed at its Ribbon-Cutting  celebration  on  Friday,
 ry 11, 2011, at United Way of Broome County, Vestal, New York; and
 EAS,  United  Way 2-1-1 Susquehanna River Region is a free, confi-
 l information and referral telephone number  helping  people  gain
  to essential services; and
 EAS,  United Way 2-1-1 Susquehanna River Region has been providing
 , personal  and  professional  assistance  for  health  and  human
 es since 2010; and
 EAS,  United  Way 2-1-1 Susquehanna River Region operates out of a
 enter at United Way of Broome County and is supported  by  funding
 nited Way of Broome County; and
 EAS,  United  Way  2-1-1  Susquehanna River Region is committed to
 ng all community residents information on issues concerning  food,
 g,  child  care,  employment,  health care, senior care, substance
  mental  health,  financial  problems,  crisis  counseling,  legal
 s and volunteer opportunities; and
 EAS, United Way 2-1-1 Susquehanna River Region is a vital resource
 functioning  to assist businesses, support human resources depart-
  hospital social workers and individuals new to the community  who
 eking information about what the region has to offer; and
 EAS,  It  is  the practice of this Legislative Body that those who
 e the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown  a
 and  sustained  commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
 ition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
 herefore, be it
 LVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
