ATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Hoosic Valley High School y Girls Basketball Team upon the occasion of capturing the 2012 rk State Class C Championship S, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved hrough strenuous practice, team play and team spirit, nurtured by ted coaching and strategic planning; and EAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop- f the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by ling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of y living, imparting a desire for success and developing a sense of lay and competition; and EAS, On Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Hudson Valley Community College y, New York, the 2011-12 Hoosic Valley High School Varsity Girls ball Team captured the New York State Public High School Athletic ation Class C title by defeating Randolph by a score of 43-42; and EAS, In addition to winning the New York State Public High School ic Association Class C championship, the 2011-12 Hoosic Valley chool Varsity Girls Basketball Team were the Wasaren League Cham- the Class C Section 2 Champions and the Class C Regional Cham- and EAS, The 2011-12 Hoosic Valley High School Varsity Girls Basket- eam's overall record was an outstanding 25-1; it was undefeated in play with a 14-0 record; and EAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great o the efforts of Head Coach Walter Dorman and Assistant Coach Chapko, skilled and inspirational mentors, respected for their y to develop potential into excellence; and EAS, The team's overall record is outstanding, and the team s were loyally and enthusiastically supported by family, fans, s and the community at large; and EAS, The hallmarks of the 2011-12 Hoosic Valley High School Varsi- ls Basketball Team, from the opening game of the season to partic- n in league play and in the New York State Public High School ic Association Tournament were a sisterhood of athletic ability, d sportsmanship, of honor and of scholarship, demonstrating that team players are second to none; and EAS, Athletically and academically, the team members have proven lves to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting favor- n their school and community; and EAS, Head Coach Walter Dorman and Assistant Coach Larny Chapko done a superb job in guiding, molding and inspiring the 2011-12 Valley High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team members toward goals; and EAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and lishment; Head Coach Walter Dorman and Assistant Coach Larny Chap- nd the 2011-12 Hoosic Valley High School Varsity Girls Basketball outstanding athletes have clearly made a contribution to the of excellence which is a tradition of their school; now, there- be it LVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to tulate the 2011-12 Hoosic Valley High School Varsity Girls Basket- Team, its members: Cassidy Chapko, Alicia Lewis (Captain), Rayn Morgan Anderson, Samantha Conners, Morgan Bayly, Whitney Kugler in), Alexandra Gurney, Rachel Moore (Captain), Kimberly Kocienski, Fitzpatrick, Tracy Anderson, and Marisa Moore; and Head Coach Dorman and Assistant Coach Larny Chapko; on their New York State C Championship and their outstanding season; and be it further LVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- d to the members and coaching staff of the 2011-12 Hoosic Valley chool Varsity Girls Basketball Team.
