 ATIVE  RESOLUTION  commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Town
  Baltimore, New York, to be celebrated in 2011

 S, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and  commem-
  the distinguished histories of the communities which comprise the
 body of this great Empire State; and
 EAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
 ng  traditions,  this  Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
 the 200th Anniversary of the Town of New Baltimore, New York; and
 EAS, Festivities to mark the Town of New Baltimore's  Bicentennial
 rating 200 Years of Community" will begin with an opening ceremony
 e  New Baltimore Town Hall, Hannacroix, New York, on Sunday, March
 11; and
 EAS, The Town of New Baltimore was established from  the  Town  of
 kie  on  March  15, 1811, by an act of the New York State Legisla-
 originally part of the homeland of the Mahican Indians, the town's
 ries were within the patents granted  by  the  Dutch  and  English
 ments  to  early  settlers  such as Barent P. Coeymans and Mathias

 EAS, The first town meeting was held on April  2,  1811  at  which
  Van  Slyke  was  elected the first town supervisor; town meetings

 EAS, The Town of New Baltimore was in agricultural production  for
 of  its  200  year history; transportation routes, primarily those
 today as County Routes 51 and 26, connected the  interior  of  the
 to  the  river; fruit and hay which were produced here for the New

 EAS, A thriving hamlet of stores, homes and  churches  was  estab-
