 ATIVE  RESOLUTION congratulating the East Syracuse-Minoa and Bald-
 lle school districts upon the occasion of their being named to the
 ievement List

 S, It is the sense of  this  Legislative  Body  to  recognize  and
 d  institutions  of  true purpose and high achievement whose exem-
 programs and accomplishments clearly demonstrate  the  pursuit  of
 ence in education and service to the community; and
 EAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
 ng traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to  congratu-
 he East Syracuse-Minoa and Baldwinsville school districts upon the
 on of their being named to the AP Achievement List; and
 EAS,  The  East  Syracuse-Minoa and Baldwinsville school districts
 ong the 388 school districts in the  United  States  and  only  28
   districts  in  New  York  State  named to the College Board's AP
 ement List; and
 EAS, The College Board's AP  Achievement  List  recognizes  school
 cts  for  increasing  the  number  of students participating in AP
 s while continuing to make gains in test performance; and
 EAS, Several criteria are used to select the  College  Board's  AP
 ement  List,  including  broadening  access  to Advanced Placement
 s while maintaining or improving the percentage of students  earn-
 cores  of  "3  or  higher"  on  the  examination, which is usually
 ed for college credit; and
 EAS, From 2008 to 2010, the East  Syracuse-Minoa  school  district
 sed  the  number  of  students  participating in AP by 30 percent,
 improving the percentage of students earning AP exam scores of  "3
 her"; and
 EAS,  To  be  recognized  for the AP Achievement List, the College
 looked at three years of AP data, focusing on a steady or increas-
 percentage   of   examinations    taken    by    African-American,
 ic/Latino and American Indian/Alaska Native students; and
 EAS,  This  auspicious  occasion presents a unique opportunity for
 egislative Body to recognize and pay tribute  to  the  East  Syra-
 inoa and Baldwinsville school districts; and
 EAS,  It  is  the  sense of this Legislative Body that when educa-
  institutions of such noble aims and accomplishments  are  brought
 r  attention,  they  should be recognized and applauded by all the
 ns of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
 LVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
 tulate  the East Syracuse-Minoa and Baldwinsville school districts
 he occasion of their being named to the AP Achievement  List;  and
 further
 LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
 d to the East Syracuse-Minoa and Baldwinsville school districts.
